This is his story:
Ron says, "Having grown up in the country it was nice to see some space between the houses again." We love it out here. However, we started getting sick. Kind of like the cold that never leaves. In fact, we got so accustomed to the coughing, family members were asking if we were ok. We would just tell them, " The doctor said it was just a lingering cough froma cold."
WRONG.
Looking back this was not the problem. The problem was.... MOLD. having spent most of my contracting career repairing and rebuilding homes that have damage due to moisture problems resulting in mold, fungus, and dry rot. I did not think it was a problem being around mold all the time with no ill effects.
I WAS WRONG
Sure we had mold. It would show up in the bathroom and around the swamp cooler. I would clean it up with clorox, repaint or recaulk and thought I have solved the problem, but it always came back. The problem with mold is that you only see 10% of it. 90% of the mold is in the form of tiny spores we can't see floating in the air.
The difference in working around mold and living with it are 2 different things. Most of the time while I working around it, I wore a mask and I was outside. At home, we were living and sleeping with it along with all the other indoor air pollutants in a consecrated environment , with only our noses working as a filter.
It's no surprise that the Environmental Protection agency ranks indoor air pollution as a high priority health risk. Why is this happening? In the 1970's we had an energy crisis. Building codes were changed allowing for decreased air movement per person per household from 15 cubic feet to 3 cubic feet. The end result more energy cost efficient homes. Let's face it. If homes weren't built this tight, we could not afford to heat or cool them. However the other end result is indoor air pollution.

Even though we live in a drier climate, everytime we take a bath/ shower, cook, wash our hands moisture enters the air and stays in the house. After spending time in the hospital and 4x on powerful antibiotics, I was real sick of being sick. Then one morning while I was watching the morning news, I saw all the dust particles floating in the rays of sunshine as they came through the window. then it hit me all at once... I knew what was making me sick. ALL OF THE ABOVE.
I went to the computer and found out that I had all the symptoms related to Sick Home syndrome. This is what started my research. I then thought, "What can I do about it.. Air filter?
